The FINCATS team has reached an important milestone: the monitoring site initiation visit was completed earlier this spring, and recruitment for the study has officially begun.

The visit marked the final stage of preparation for this placebo-controlled clinical trial evaluating carpal tunnel release surgery. After years of planning, careful protocol development and detailed practical preparations, the study team was ready to begin enrolling participants and delivering the trial to a high standard.

We are pleased that the first potential participants have already been assessed for the study. The first recruitment day brought several suitable candidates forward, including participants entering the observational follow-up group and others moving toward randomisation.

Our team is excited to begin this next phase of FINCATS. We look forward to welcoming participants and generating important new evidence on the effectiveness of surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome. More updates are to come as the study moves forward.
