FIDELITY’s 10-year results published in The New England Journal of Medicine

We are thrilled to announce the final 10-year results of FIDELITY trial have been published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
The 10-year follow-up results have revealed that, compared to sham surgery, partial meniscectomy did not improve patients’ symptoms or function. On the contrary, the 10-year follow-up of patients who had undergone partial meniscectomy found them to have more symptoms, more reduced function, increased progression of osteoarthritis and a higher probability of subsequent knee surgery when compared to sham surgery.
This study process began nearly 20 years ago, and its earlier findings have already generated significant interest and sparked discussion among both experts and the wider public.
We are honored to see this final chapter of the research recognized, and we hope it will continue to encourage further study, informed discussion, and thoughtful policy development.
Our team would like to thank everyone involved. This has been a remarkable journey, and it would not have reached this point without the support, expertise, and dedication of an outstanding network of professionals and brilliant minds.
