Who are you?
I’m a research assistant with seven years of experience on the FICEBO team and a fourth-year student majoring in Statistical Data Analysis with a minor in Public Health at the University of Tampere.
What is your role in FICEBO?
My role consists of two main parts. First, I conduct junior-level statistical analyses for studies, currently I’m working on the PROMISE project. Second, I manage and maintain our team’s website and work with online data collection tools such as REDCap.
Favorite part of your job?
I love the flexibility and variety my job offers. I’m constantly learning new things and gaining experiences that many other positions might not provide.
Why did you decide to enter your field?
I wouldn’t say I’ve fully entered a specific field yet, my path has been shaped by trial and error. I initially started as a Public Health major but realized I wanted to engage more deeply with my love for mathematics. After my second year, I switched to Statistics, and it turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made.
Who/What inspires you?
I’m inspired every day by passionate and successful people, especially young people. The online community also plays a big role, seeing others share their relatable struggles and achievements on social media motivates me to keep working toward becoming the person I aspire to be.
