Who are you?

I am an experienced general practitioner. I have worked for a long time in both public and private healthcare in Finland, and as a municipal doctor in Norway. My interest in medical research has continued since my studies throughout my working career.

What is your role in FICEBO?

I am a clinical researcher. I am conducting research on new treatment practices for ankle injuries for my PhD dissertation, together with a highly experienced research team at FICEBO.

Favorite part of your job?

Working on the front lines of medicine with patients of all ages and all types of illnesses and injuries challenges me as a doctor every day.

Why did you decide to enter your field?

Working as a general practitioner offers a unique window into the human experience, meeting patients of all ages and life situations. The versatility of the work allows me to help patients across the full spectrum of medicine.

Who/What inspires you?

People whose actions speak for themselves, leaders who lead by example and are willing to stand with and support those in need.

The most interesting article you’ve read recently?

”Viridans Streptococcal Biofilm Evades Immune Detection and Contributes to Inflammation and Rupture of Atherosclerotic Plaques” Journal of the American Heart Association. Volume 14, Issue 16, 19 August 2025

Your favorite book and why?

”Unknown Kimi Räikkonen” by Kari Hotakainen is the authorised biography of cult hero Finnish Formula One world champion Kimi Räikkönen. We all have moments when we want to say: “Leave me alone. I know what to do.” But often we all have moments when we should also be able to say: "Don't leave me alone, I need you."
